The torch on felt underlay consists of an APP-modified bituminous waterproofing membrane with both composite polyester and fibreglass reinforcement providing both good mechanical characteristics and excellent dimensional stability. It is used as the under layer in conjunction with the 4mm torch on felt layer. It is applied by being rolled out across the roof and heated with a blow torch, melting the lower layer of felt and essentially welding it to the roof.
