IKO Pro Felt Adhesive 5L

IKO pro high performance roofing felt adhesive is a cold-applied bitumen adhesive for bonding and sealing roofing felts. It is a bitumen adhesive which enables total bonding of roofing felts without the need for hot bitumen or flames. It is also ideal for sealing lap joints and for fixing chippings to the final layer for a built-up system.

Thoroughly stir before use, ensuring a full working of the liquid in the tin.

Apply IKOpro HP (high performance) roofing felt adhesive by brush ensuring an even coating at the coverage rate specified. Allow the adhesive to become tacky (approximately 15 minutes at 20oC) and then roll roofing felt into position, pressing down firmly with a weighted roller. Inspect the roof at intervals over the next 24 hrs, pressing down areas that may have lifted.

On laps, apply evenly to the lap, pressing the overlying sheet firmly back into position with seam roller, exuding a visible bleed of the adhesive beyond the completed lap.

All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from grease, oil, dirt and loose material. Treat any algae and fungi using a proprietary algae and fungi remover as required. Porous surfaces i.e. concrete and existing bituminous surfaces should be primed with a coat of IKOpro quick dry bitumen primer and allowed to dry.

IKOpro HP (high performance) roofing felt adhesive can be used for bonding bituminous roofing membranes to concrete, metal, plywood and OSB3 board decks. The product can also be used for sealing laps in bituminous roofing, and as a chipping compound to bond chippings to the final layer of a built-up bituminous roofing system.

When used as a chipping compound, the adhesive should be evenly spread at a depth sufficient for the chipping material being cast.
