Detectamesh detectable tape is a plastic mesh with a traceable stainless steel wire laminated between the mesh and a polyethylene tape which is printed with a warning message to warn future excavators of the location and potential danger of the utility services / pipes and cables below (electric cable). The stainless steel wire acts as the detectable element that can be located by a cat & genny (cable avoidance tool / cable and pipe locator ) by direct connection or induction where applicable.
