Keruing is a product of multiple species of Dipterocarpus. Some thirty species are found but for practical purposes, it has been deemed best to collectively sell these species as one. Keruing generally compares with Teak in most strength categories, but it is a little stiffer and about 40% more resistant to shock loads. The half lapped Keruing is generally used for flooring.
